Pieter Oussoren

Pieter Oussoren is the translator of the Naarden Bible. He was a pastor in Koog aan de Zaan and Zaandijk when the translation work that led to this Bible began. The first edition was published in 2004; the 2024 edition also includes responses from readers and experts. The translation pays a lot of attention to the form and repetitions of the source text. For readers who want to hear familiar passages differently, this may prompt them to read more carefully. Oussoren is listed as the translator in this edition, not as the original author of the Bible.

This is how you read this edition

First read a passage out loud and then compare it with a familiar translation. Pay attention to repeated words, without taking individual formulations out of context.
