THE SHORT ANSWER
The Zij Lacht Study Bible combines the complete HSV and study materials with additional Zij Lacht sections. The choice revolves around the explanation, the extra approach and the format that you like.
Start with the interior
The publisher mentions commentary, background on Bible books, maps and timelines. There are also two Zij Lacht sections. So browse beyond the cover. Read a regular study page and an extra contribution: do you find both useful? You are buying an extensive reading and study book, not just a nice gift.
Who might this edition suit?
The presentation is aimed at women. That says something about the chosen approach, not that others cannot use the explanation. When giving a gift, it is better to ask whether the recipient reads the HSV and likes detailed explanations. A preference for a particular cover does not say anything about the desired amount of commentary.
Compare with the regular study Bible
Compare the Zij Lacht edition with the HSV Study Bible. Look at readability, additional material and how comfortable each is to use at a table. Choose the edition you expect to open regularly. If you mainly want to write notes, consider a journaling Bible instead and check how much writing space it provides.
