Space for your own questions
A youth Bible can help make connections with everyday life. See what topics the explanations cover and who wrote them. Choose an approach that invites you to think for yourself.
Not every thirteen-year-old reads the same
Age is a starting point, not a reading level. Discuss whether the young person likes to read and whether the language is pleasant. Compare an example with the Plain Language Bible if simpler formulations are desired.
Choosing yourself helps
Let the young person watch where possible. An appropriate translation and usable format are more important than a label on the cover.
