Readability is personal
One reader feels at home with familiar Biblical words, while another prefers to read more modern sentences. “Easier” does not automatically mean “better”. Read the same passage in both translations and notice what you understand.
Compare the edition separately
Both translations exist in different versions. You cannot judge a standard Bible and a study Bible by the translation name alone. Also look for additional explanation, format and font size.
Which one do you choose for study?
For study, using both alongside each other can be helpful. Differences may prompt you to consult a commentary or dictionary. Our selection guide does not judge which faith tradition is right.
