Marieke ten Berge

Marieke ten Berge is an illustrator and designer. She came up with the image concept of the Babybijbel and made the black and white illustrations for it; Corien Oranje wrote the lyrics and songs. On her own website, Ten Berge describes her interest in nature and her use of graphic techniques such as etchings and woodcuts. With the Babybijbel, the question of choice lies mainly with the function of the image: viewing together with a very young child. That is a different contribution than retelling or translating the Bible.

This is how you read this edition

First look at one image and then read a short text. Let the child's pace determine when you turn.
